Booker

Booker is a gorgeous natural eared affectionate young black Doberman who is about a year and a half.  He is your typical young Velcro boy and won’t let you leave the room without him.  He loves balls and chew toys.  For his age, he is very calm but does need regular daily exercise.  He is sensitive and needs positive reinforcement to continue to grow into the perfect Doberman.

He gets along with other dogs and was not interested in cats during his cat test.  He is currently living with a young and active female Doberman.  They will play chase and wrestle and then nap.  He also lived briefly in a foster home with a male Doberman and they were fine but could play rough.  He loves to play and will do best in a home with another social female dog similar in size.  If your current dog doesn’t like to play or want a housemate, Booker is not for you.

He is 100% house broken and crate trained.  He is curious and inquisitive and it is recommended that he be crated when left alone.  He barks when people come to the door.

He walks nicely on a leash without pulling except when he sees neighbors or other dogs.  He will pull and lunge at other dogs to try to meet them.  This can frighten the other dog and frustrate him.  A formal structured obedience class is recommended to set and reinforce expectations and continue to socialize.  He is great a sit and also knows down and paw.

He loves balls and playing.  He is a powerful chewer and can destroy most toys.  On that note, if you leave socks and shoes on the floor, he may mistake them for chew toys.  He makes quick work of socks by putting holes in them.  Please, plan to put them (and other high interest/value personal items) out of his reach.
