Burt was found stray wandering the roads down south, along with his doggy friend. Both arrived at the shelter in not so good shape. Burt was finally taken to see a vet where they found he was anemic and heartworm positive. With proper vet care Burt was feeling better in no time but he still had to deal with the awful heartworms.
We are estimating Burt to be about 5 years old and he has never met a stranger. Typical dobie loves to be with his people. He is good in his crate and loves to keep his favorite toy right by his side. Since Burt is doing his heartworm treatment he can not be properly tested with other dogs but so far on leash or through a fence he is fine with dogs. We can not say the same for cats, so a no kitty household for Burt.
Burt will be finished with his heartworm treatment and neutered in January. At that time he will be ready to go onto his new family and start the life he should have had all along.
