Darlene

Darlene came to BDR as an owner surrender when her family was moving. According to the owners, she had “possible hip dysplasia”. However as soon as our volunteers saw her walk, they knew it was not her hips but actually her knees. Darlene had bilateral tears in the ligaments in her back legs. It was rough few weeks waiting to get into the specialist and Darlene alternating limping or holding up one (or even both) of her back legs. She had surgery 7/24 on both legs and will need to recover before she’s ready for her forever home.

Darlene is a beautiful girl but will need certain things in her forever home. She will need a Doberman experienced home. She is 4 years old and is a sweet girl with women but can be cautious with men. She will need a home without young children though may be ok with teenagers. Despite her pain, she does enjoy going for walks or just sitting outside and enjoying the scenery. She loves to chew on bones or chew toys and when she likes you, you’ll get lots of kisses. She’s house trained and crate trained—though may not need to be crated after her recovery.
