Gunner

Gunner is a very sweet, cropped & docked fawn male who absolutely melts when given any amount of attention. He’s a very easy dog and loves going for walks, and playing with you out in the yard. He is especially fond of playing ball, and if you have two balls, he’ll fetch and return one and then be off to grab the second one! He also likes his nylabones and of course his rope toy. He’s a very easy boy to please.

He is 5 years old. He some mild issues with his gait but the only time that seems to slow him down is when he first awakes, and immediately has to negotiate a set of stairs. As a fawn, he has a bit of overall hair loss but we have him on “fawn therapy” in an attempt to develop a better coat on him.

Gunner wore a bark collar 100% of the time in his previous home, but his foster home has never used it, and considers Gunner’s overall barking to be minimal, and at the right time. He quickly becomes accustomed to the noises in the house and more unusual things like ducks and geese on his lawn.

Gunner is very playful and would enjoy another easy-going dog to romp around with. Nobody too bossy, as he seems to have had his fill of that in his former home. He would also be an excellent choice as an only-dog, especially if you would enjoy playing with him! He would NOT do well with kids in the house so an adult only home or home with teenagers would be best for him. He was cat tested on a leash and did fine but may need further cat testing.

He does well in the house though his gait is a bit clumsy when he is walking slowly. Outside, he runs like the wind! If you have a nice fenced-in yard and enjoy being outside, Gunner will run circles around you as you poke around in the garden. If you enjoy walks, even better! He is reasonably easy to walk on a harness, which we recommend for him.

Gunner appears to be housebroken and is trusted in the house by himself at his foster home. He appears to be very anxious about being crated although he settled down for the most part on his recent transport to his foster home.

If you enjoy loving dogs and love to play with your dogs, Gunner may be the boy for you!
