Remus

This cute nugget is Remus. He’s close to 60 pounds and is only a baby at 10 months old. During this short time, he’s been plagued with a non-contagious skin condition (demodectic mange), plus fungal and bacterial infections. As a result, some of his hair has fallen out and with medicated shampoos and antibiotics, he’s on the road to recovery and will have a beautiful, thick, dark red coat of fur.

Remus is an owner surrender who could no longer provide for his medical care. They loved him but it was beyond their financial means to provided treatment for him at the time. He’s been in a foster home and has been a wonderful houseguest. He’s played with dogs of all ages and energy levels and seems to like the young and active dogs that can keep up with his constant desire to play. He would be a perfect addition to a family with children or for someone who is active and will give him the opportunity to burn off some energy on a daily basis.

He can be shy at first and will bark at strangers, yet it’s just talking. There’s not one aggressive bone in this loverboy’s little body. Remus will give quick, soft kisses and then be as shy as a schoolboy and run away. He also enjoys being in your lap and will work his way into any nook and cranny that will hold him. Crate trained, great on a leash, knows some commands, loves to destroy toys plus enjoys car rides. He’s not completely housebroken, but the accidents are usually because he wasn’t taken out on a schedule.

He will prance and dance when it’s dinnertime and then gives a command performance by throwing his toys up in the air and then wrestling on the ground with them. Remus has started to like going out to explore and has been learning what great things can happen when you go into the library, the bank, pet store and just walking down the street to see what the neighbors are doing.

All of our dogs are in foster homes and are available to meet by appointment only and only after an application has been completed.
