Violet

My name is Violet (Velvet) and I am all natural with unaltered tail and ears. I am a 1 year and 4 month old fawn dobergirl with hints of blue so depending on the lighting my appearance will alter slightly. I must warn you that I am a “thief”! I will steal your heart upon our first encounter. Just try not to fall in love with me, I dare you! I am velvet soft to the touch and in keeping with the “v” descriptive words I am very much a “Velcro” Doberman. I have not met a human or animal I wouldn’t be best friends with, except for squirrels, which we all know are the arch nemesis of Dobermans. I am very active and love to go for walks, play “tug”, play fetch, make you play fetch, and learn lots of new tricks. I must confess that I am a cuddler when not playing and will gladly burrow into a blanket or pile of pillows if your lap is not available. As a service to you I am very alert and will let you know whenever someone or something is near. I also love to engage in conversation and will tell you when I want something with my own version of “Hey, I am right here and I want something”. I am crate trained, house trained, and enjoy riding in the vehicle. I am up to date on all vaccinations including the flu shot. I am microchipped so you won’t lose me and I am also spayed. My previous humans took me to school for some training and I am learning new commands and tricks daily. I currently have an older and bigger foster brother who I follow everywhere and mimic. I will be very easy to train whether it is learning from another dog or from more formal training. Just recently, I am learning right and left commands while on walks. I have been told I am very assertive and persistent and will require a household where there is definite structure and direction provided. I don’t like to brag but I am highly intelligent and with a dedicated and attentive human partner the rewards I will provide are limitless. I have lived around a cat (previous foster home) but will chase it for fun and around smaller children (1 year old in initial home) but I can be a little high energy and bouncy so maybe best with children 6 and up.
Just look at my photos and try to not “need” to meet me. Meet me and try not to fall in love. I am that thing you have to have but just didn’t know it yet!
