Shelby is a very shy but lovable red girl who we are estimating about 3 years old. She was left abandoned with her male doggy friend outside of a home. Good Samaritans rescued both dogs and kept them safe until rescue was able to be found for them.
Although Shelby has not been treated well by people in the past she loves attention but will shy away at first. But once she trusts you, Shelby is by your side for life.
Even though Shelby has lived outside she appears to be housetrained, no accidents since she has arrived in her foster home. She stays in an open crate most of the time and never offered to tear up or cause any sort of trouble.
Shelby has met male and female Dobermans and several cats, been ok with all so far. She ignores the cats (really tries to avoid them) and will warm up to other dogs if they give her time to trust them and not immediately get in her face.
Shelby arrived to us already in heat so we have to wait a few weeks to get her spayed and ready for her new family. This will give her time to gain confidence. She will be spayed in late March.
Shelby will absolutely need a home with a physically fenced in yard. We have not had Shelby around any children and at this point any younger children will not be ideal because of the activity level of children may be too much for her.
If you want to give this darling girl the home she deserves please submit your application so you can come meet her.
