My name is Cyrus you can see that I’m a rather extra-large Doberman. If you want, you can just call me Big Guy Cy!
At around 7 years old, I lost my family when I was turned into a rural shelter. Some nice lady from a Doberman rescue came and took me on a freedom ride and now I’ve got my bags packed and ready for a new beginning with a forever family.
I love all humans and most other dogs. Kitties are a bit too tempting for me. Because of my size and strength, I would be best in a home with older children, ones that aren’t too easy for me to knock down when I start running and playing. My front teeth are very worn down and my foster mom says that I’m a great kisser!
If you give me a blankie or soft toy to suck, it will occupy my entire day. If you’re near me, I want to be right next to you, and curling beside you on the couch or putting my head in your lap while you pet me and rub my ears is heaven for me. I’m really very trusting and relaxed that that I sleep upside down on my back on the couch. I’m what you call a low-energy and low-maintenance dog.
I know sit, down, wait, give paw, and sit up. I am trying to learn to be better on a leash yet there’s so much stuff to sniff and pee on that I have trouble controlling my excitement. I’m housebroken and crate trained. If you adopt me, please make sure to take me on car rides (bring my blankie!!) to meet other people and see things because I am a perfect in a car.
Even though I may be older, I still have lots of moving and grooving left in me. I even like to dance with my foster mom! Reminds me of that ABBA song…“If you change your mind, I’m the first in line…take a chance on me.”
