Spirit lives up to his name, a very high-spirited fella of 7 years old but don’t let that number fool you he certainly doesn’t act like a more mature dobie. Loves people and does great with female dogs that are of similar size. However, he has a massive prey drive and CAN NOT be trusted anywhere in the area of a smaller creature, especially a cat or small dog. He has proven this to be true by “catching” one of each. Spirit can and will jump over a 5 foot fence (maybe higher) to get to what he feels he needs to catch. Spirit is soon to go into a training program that will help him with his much needed leash manners along with basic training. He is a very strong boy (over 90 pounds) and never had any leash training.
Every person that has met him says Spirit is the sweetest dog. He has great house manners and very respectful of other dogs his size. We have only had him around a female dobie so no idea how he would be with male dogs.
Can’t wait to see how Spirit does in training, we are sure he will excel since he is such a smart boy.
