Valerie is approximately 8 years old and came to us from a shelter in the south. She was listed as a stray so we don’t know much about her past life. Since Valerie came into her foster home, she has been a perfect gem. She likes to run around in the yard and is attempting to play with her younger dobe foster brother. She is tolerant of another bossy dog in her home and ignores his antics. Valerie might be okay with cats that are dog savvy but we are still establishing her level of interest (she has been cat tested with dog savvy cats and done fine). She likely won’t be good around horses – they scare her so she likes to bark ferociously at them so they will keep their distance. We have not had her around children so we are not sure how she is with them. Valerie walks well on a leash but sometimes she can pull a little bit. She does like her kennel and will sleep in it when the door is open but she also loves to be with her people. She will also sleep in her dog bed that is next to her foster parent’s bed but sometimes during the night she will sneak up onto their bed to snuggle. Valerie has been perfect in the home and does not chew anything or counter surf. Valerie is heartworm positive so she will be available for adoption towards the end of September. She will need a fenced yard.
